About the programme

The Physiotherapy programme at Sahlgrenska Academy is a three-year Bachelor programme corresponding to 180 higher education credits. The programme leads up to a Degree of Bachelor of Medical Science with a major in Physiotherapy. The programme has got admission twice a year with an intake of approximately 36 students in each intake. The programme starts both in August (autumn) and January (spring).

The full programme is offered in Swedish and English courses/clinical placements are only offered to partner university students.

Courses for Physiotherapy students

  • International partner students can choose/combine courses below depending on length and needs from partner university.
  • Swedish-speaking/Nordic exchange students are welcome to apply for any course within the programme.
  • Clinical rotation in Physiotherapy is upon request or specifically agreed with partner university.
  • Degree project/data collection in Physiotherapy, 15 credits (10 weeks)
  • Swedish course (only certificate, no academic credits)
  • An interprofessional faculty course, Multicultural encounters and intercultural communication in healthcare, is offered in English each spring for interested exchange students (evening and part-time) in addition to above.

Autumn semester 2020: 31 August – 17 January
Spring semester 2021: 18 January – 6 June

Requests from freemovers

Unfortunately, we have no possibility accepting freemover* applicants to courses and clinical placements.

*A freemover is an international student who applies to a university abroad on his/her own, without beeing part of an exchange programme.
