Postgraduate Programme students in Specialist Nursing tells all

Kajsa Brostedt, Mia Delin, Linda Svensson and Camilla Eriksson are in the second semester of four in the postgraduate programme in specialist nursing in oncology. They are very satisfied with the programme. When they are done, they will be able to lead and coordinate the care work.

"Our idea, for the future, is to work with the development of the Jubileumskliniken at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, which is one of the largest oncology clinics in Sweden. It involves the training of personnel, networking, educating patients and working out different structures that lead the care work forward - with greater safety."

They feel the pace of study and the study input are high. It is a lot of work, but is enjoyable. The best part of the programme so far is the feeling that they will be able to change the care structure when they are done.

"We are four people from the clinic who are studying together and can give each other support in the upcoming improvement work. The first thing we want to focus on when we are done is to work on and spread knowledge about patient-centric care."
